What programs are …
What programs are you using?
As a graphics …
As a graphics designer student my warning signals appeared when I hear the name Gimp and anything pixel based in the same sentence as logo. Vector, vector, vector. This is mentioned again and again in the comments, but cannot be said enough.
I liked the sketching part of the video a bit though, as that in correlation to talking back and forth with the client and analysing the targetgroup and values of the firm is the real strenght of a logo.
eww

This video is STILL …
This video is STILL the top youtube hit when someone types in “logo design”
Why?
If cbs8 had a shred of integrity, he’d take this video down.

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the tutorial… but this logo is rather hideous!
Yes, they SHOULD …
Yes, they SHOULD always be vector… this is how we professionals work. The only time you should be hitting Photoshop is to work on photographs or other images/illustrations. Logos, work that SHOULD be given to the client, needs to be in vector format because this IS the industry standard.
This isn’t a hobby job, this is pro work with industry standards.
I actually agree. I …
I actually agree. I wouldn’t say they should ALWAYS be vector though because it all depends on what the company wants to do with the logo. If they’re gonna blow it up to a bigger size to put on a billboard, THEN vector is important. if it has little use like going onto a business card or letterhead then it shouldn’t matter if its raster or not.
so chill it out …
so chill it out dude rater images are alright if you design them the size you print and actually digital lithograpic printing doesnt use either it has its own maths go to my channel theres a whole video on stuff like that
if you cannot see …
if you cannot see this chappie is just demonstrating – and very effectively the I suggest – GO KILL UR SELF.
Jeez…. in 4 mins from sketch to logo – what do you want?

Sorry dude but that logo is HORRIBLE. Please choose another profession.

Hello my name is Franco
I have an account called GILBERTandFRANCO with 600+ subs. I was really hopeing you could make me an intro to use in my videos. the one i use is not so great. I think you will do a better job.
If you do want to please do this:
-under 10 sec
-have it say “GILBERTandFRANCO” (custom logo would be amazing)
-upload it as a video response to my video”Story 9: Solo”
nice

calm down guys, he …
calm down guys, he was just explaining the steps of graphics design, using multiple programs etc. He decided to use open source programs because not many people can pay for expensive programs. Now, I have Photoshop and blender. Photoshop is the best image editing program by far. And many people who do 3d crap know about Blender 3d BECAUSE IT IS OPEN-SOURCE. We are familiar with OPEN SOURCE PROGRAMS. Obviosly it doesn’t come out the greatest, but we are familiar with it…… give him a break….
if you cant see …
if you cant see whats wrong with this logo then you are in the wrong business. please cut your losses and enter a different profession, preferably not a creative one. really really terrible
Um…. logos should …
Um…. logos should always be vector not raster. An a pro would use Illustrator… not to mention it all morphs in our minds and later onto many sketches and then when almost done into digital… not digital and a million versions of digital later a final… geez.
He said “I used to …
He said “I used to use Photoshop all the way and now I use GIMP”? Ok, Granted, Gimp isn’t a bad application for something that is open source, BUT no designer in the world would go from Photoshop to Gimp freely. Come on now.
Thats a whole lot …
Thats a whole lot of awful right there.
