Does anyone know of a good logo design software?

I have been looking for a good logo design software that I can actually try out. I downloaded AAA Logo but it will not let me save anything I make. I am looking for a program I can actually save what I am working on even during the trial.

How much to charge for logo design as a college student?

I’m a digital arts major and have been asked to design a logo for a start up company. I have about 2 years of design training under my belt.

One of my professors told me that charging $200 would be the cheapest & lowest price.

How much should I charge as a college student? Should I charge by the hour or by a whole package price?

I would take your teacher’s advice and charge them $200. Your teacher should know what’s fair to charge as a student. A professional in the field would charge much more. Plus, this is going to be something they use on everything as a company. I would tell them what a professional would charge them just so they know how much they’re saving by going through you.

How can I find customers for a new logo design business?

I have set up a new design business (web and logo) called Steve’s Web Design. I’m offering a heavily reduced price on my logos so I can build up my portfolio at £100 a logo! But I can’t get hardly any customers. How can I get more using the internet. I know you can spend tonnes advertising and I have put some in the free classified ads such as Craigslist but for no results. Please tell me how to get started.

One way of enticing your clients to bring you more clients is giving them incentives. You can offer them some discounts on their next design jobs.

As a marketing tool you can also create a portfolio of your previous design jobs. This you can use to present when you are selling your service. Your must at least have a portable and online portfolio for selling purposes.

Be always on the look out for new businesses in your surrounding. They might need to use your graphic design services to market themselves in the area. Get their addresses and send them mailers like postcards telling them about your services.

Usually new businesses need business cards, brochures, letterheads, forms and many other marketing materials.

You must also be friendly to other people in the industry and related industries. For someone who still needs exposure it also helps to provide your services free of charge on your spare time.

Where can I find Free Logos and Free Logo Design online?

I have a small business that has been growing and I am looking for help finding a resource online that offers free logos and/or free logo design. The service needs to be of high quality where I can choose colors and a logo design that works for my business. I have used google and other services but they do not seem to have quality sites that offer free business logos. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I was searching for a company who would do free logos for my small business too. I found http://www.freelogoservices.com online. They were an exceptional resource. They made a free logo design for me about 6 months ago. There work was exceptional they designed the logo and had it back to me in 24 hours (they say 48 hours on the site) I have to admit that they were extremely helpful they allowed me to pick the colors and the design who would have thought you could get a high quality free business logo online customized for my business.

I do web site design but a current customer has asked me to do a logo design, which I have never done before. I am wondering if there is anyone out there that is willing to help if I email them the picture. They just want the name of the restaurant to go on a curve on the top of the picture itself, but I don’t know how to do that or don’t have the right program to do that. Is there anyone that is willing to help me design the logo?

how do I prevent my work from being stolen in a logo design contest?

local restaurant is in need of new logo, so is holding a logo design contest.
is there a way to send my files to the restaurant without getting my ideas stolen in the long run? like a water mark or something? send low res jpgs, and tell them if mine is picked they will have the hi-res files?

I mean they could easily just show the images to some other designer, and never pay me for my work…
suggestions? information on what to do would be AWESOME!

I’ve entered as well as hosted many logo/design competitions.

Copyrighting your design is a waste of time. If your logo is chosen as the winner, you will have to revoke your copyright – it’s probably written into the rules ("All submissions become the property of __") By entering the contest, you accept these terms. The design will belong to the restaurant just as if they had hired you to design it, so I wouldn’t even bother.

Quite often the final design is reworked anyway, by you or another designer. Regardless, the only thing you’re legally entitled to receive is recognition as the contest winner, and the prize.

Watermarking a submission for a competition is not a great idea. Not only does it appear amateurish, the judges will want the image to be as clear and understandable as possible.

A low-res file is the very best idea. Good luck!

The brief required me to design a logo for “Saniware” a company which specializes in sanitary wares and bathroom toilet fixtures.

It was essential for the logo to have a distinct logo mark. This mark must be modern, fresh, uncomplicated, bold, positive, and best of all elegant. It also must express modernism, design, high quality and eco-friendliness.
