What is a good design for a business card?

Im a pro cyclist and people tend to ask me for a name and number. I get tired of asking for pen and paper so Im thinking of just printing business cards and handing it to them. Its more convenient in my opinion. I don’t know how it should be designed. Any ideas? More details= more points

Obviously, clip art or picture of a bike would be a good starting point. You don’t say if you are a roadie, BMXer or MTBer; that would also have to be taken into consideration. If you are a roadie I would suggest not to put on your current team for that may not be your current team for long. Standard text for starters; just the basics, such as your name (Duh!), e-mail address and/or web address (if you have one and if you are wishing to be contacted), and anything else you feel is important. I can’t help you with layout for that is strictly a visual thing.

    I am a designer (and a cyclist) and I scoff at the idea of using clip-art on your business card. I would suggest either coming up with your own design, or having someone like myself design a card for you. I would think something crisp and clean on a heavy stock. A simple silouette illustration that bleeds off the edge in the background with a nice clean black (possibly raised) font on top. Don’t put to much info on it. Maybe just name, phone/cell and email address. Your design should speak to what you do, you don’t need to spell it out. Good Luck!
